Julieta M. Guzman, MA, ATC, SFG1, FRCms

Julieta joins our sports medicine team as an experienced athletic trainer and has worked with many elite athletes, including NFL players and Olympians. Her rehabilitative approach focuses on joint and muscle mobility, stability of the spine and pelvis, mitigation and recognition of injuries, and return to sport protocol and testing.

Julieta has previous collegiate athletic training experience as a graduate assistant at Stanford from 2008-2010 in which she worked with football and track and field. She left Stanford to become the assistant athletic trainer with football at the University of California, Berkeley from 2010-2013. She eventually left Cal to work with active-duty Marines and sailors in San Diego. As a Marine veteran herself, Julieta felt it was an exciting opportunity to help ready active duty personnel through the sports medicine prevention and reconditioning team (2010). After working with active-duty military, she was called back to the collegiate setting and was asked to take over the head football athletic trainer position at the University of California, Davis. Julieta happily accepted this position and eventually became the Associate head athletic trainer, 2013-2017.

Julieta earned a BS in athletic training from Eastern Michigan University in 2008 and an MA in Kinesiology from San Jose State in 2010. She is a board-certified Athletic Trainer.

Julieta loves to swing some kettlebells, snowboard, and backpack the Sierras and Rockies as some of her hobbies. She lives in Oakland and enjoys spending time with her family.
